I live in Oviédo(Spain). My specialty and my origin in photography is taking pictures of cities and towns with their corners, but I always loved nature and now that I'm a father of four children I enjoy showing it's beauty to them thanks to my pictures, hoping they will love and respect it as I do, though I also hope they will have someday their own children, grandchildren,....and those I shall not see and meet could enjoy nature as I can do today. |

My passion for the nature photography came along with the evolution of digital imaging technology as for many of nature photographers today. Over the time the simple desire to take nice pictures of birds became a natural way for learning more about the living nature and its principles. Today the wildlife experiences are equally important for me as are the pictures taken. Getting to know the nature in its complexity is one of the biggest discoveries of my life and it brings me more towards the nature conservation issues. I come from Czech Republic but living in Norway for last years I fell in love with arctic species. Right now I'm discovering the diversity of life around my current city that is Bergen on the western coast of Norway. You can check my complete work at the website |

I live in the Southwest of Germany, near the french border and "in real life" I run a training stable with icelandic horses. The good thing is that I can take a horse and check my surrounding, which is really good for birds. The bad thing is that I don't have much time for photography, because I have to work really much... I love birds and to watch them and take images is both: relaxing and exciting as well. I love to stay and wait for the right moment to get a special picture. When I have time to travel, I always go for birdphotography. Because of my work with icelandic horses I am used to be on Iceland. There I felt in love with the cute puffin and I went to different countries to see this special birds. I am very fascinated of all the different Owls and Woodpeckers and try to find them where ever I am. In addition to birdphotography I run some workshops which you can find at |

I have been a serious birder since my school days. While always being interested in photography, the lure of a new bird took precedence over spending the time to take photographs. I bought my first serious camera and lens combination in 1984; adapting Leitz Telyt 400mm and 560 mm lenses to a Minolta, then a Contax camera. |

For me there was not really a point where I started with nature-photography, I was grown into it. My father did nature-photography 20 years as a hobby and took me with him on his tours since I was 4 years old. My love to nature was not at least founded in the surrounding of my home. It was placed at the end of a road and surrounded on two sides by forest, so that this gave me plenty of nature, which I could discover. My aim in nature photography is to make people curious of nature and that my pictures of creatures are used to bring praise to the creator. In addition to my hobby I am involved in active conservation to protect nature. |

Unfamiliar with the birds of Canada, he poured over guides and joined the local nature society so that he would recognize every species in the Province, by sight and by sound. Taking part in bird counts during Spring, Fall and over the Christmas period also helped him accumulate even more species for his growing portfolio and helped gain more knowledge of the birds. The winner of several awards, his wildlife photography has been featured in books, magazines, apps for the Ipad and many other types of media. Greg Oakley | |
Greg has had a lifelong obsession with wildlife and in particular birds. Growing up in Adelaide, South Australia, he spent countless hours of his childhood in the bush watching and studying these unique creatures. Combining this love of nature with a strong interest in art and photography, he began painting birds from a young age. After moving to Victoria, he studied Art, Design and Photography at Monash University and has worked as a Graphic Designer since. He is currently a Creative Director in a leading design firm. Although “dabbling” in bird photography from a young age, he spent many years just birding - focusing mainly on chasing the next new species. After years of owning traditional film SLR’s, his first digital camera in 2001 was a Fuji Finepix DSLR combined with a Nikon 400mm. He has had Nikon gear ever since, becoming “serious” about bird photography around 3 years ago. His work has been published in several books, magazines and websites and he is currently building a large catalogue of images of Australian avifauna. |

For more than 25 years, I have a great passion for the Wadden Sea and its unique flora and fauna. In this way, digital nature photography has become my leisure activity number one. Also in Germany it is still possible to observe wild animals in their natural habitat, for example seals on the North Sea’s shores and, of course, numerous bird species. Already from an early age, I feel a deep connection with nature and thus, consider myself being also responsible for its conservation. In my pictures, I would like to express especially these two aspects. |

Oscar Diez | |
Born in Madrid on July 22, 1973. Since I can remember, I have always been astounded about animals and their world, but it was not until 2002 that I began to photograph them. After going on safari to Kenya in my honeymoon and every single day, I realize I cannot stop photographing them. On April 2005 I bought my first digital camera, and it was then when I began to achieve a real success in my work. Birds and then mountains are what I feel more attracted about and catching pictures of them is my specialty. The fact of not missing any possible opportunity nature offers me has turned me into an all-purpose photographer, as I always take advantage of the best moments of wildlife and their habitats to capture them. Completely self-taught, nature and the countryside have been my tools to learn all I know. Teachings of great photographers, who now are friends, and spending most of my time studying the behavior of birds have let me achieve gratifying results for me. I think going out and get into a "hide" to observe everything without being seen by the environment around you, is one of those feelings in life that leaves you speechless. Partner of AEFONA (Association spanish of nature Photographers), FONAMAD (Association of Nature Photographers of Madrid) and SEO (Spanish Society of Ornithology). |

Franka Slothouber | |
I was born in May 1961 and raised in a family of designers, an environment with more attention to graphic beauty then to nature. After finishing my study as a social worker I have spend about 25 years working at the Dutch national press agency ANP. I must have looked at and edited thousands of photos before I picked up the camera myself in 2007. Working digitally made it possible to achieve a lot of technical skills in no time. My preference to look for my subjects in nature, combined with my upbringing amongst design stuff, resulted into a mix of intuitive graphic compositions and attention to subtle details. Not a lot of action is seen in my photos, but for the one who takes a closer look there's maybe more to see then you would think at first glance. Specialism: Wildlife in general, with a particular interest in birds. |

I was born and raised in the Netherlands. After my studies I started working in the IT industry. Since 1998 I live in Switzerland. From early age I have had a passion for birds. Usually with binocular and field guide I was primarily a birder. Since digital photography became affordable, I added photography to the mix and since 2007 I only do photography. Although birds are my main interest, wildlife, macro, landscape and creative photography are as much part of my photographic subjects. Occasionally I lead a photography workshop, conduct speaker sessions for birds of a feather and organize photo exhibitions. Through photographing birds and wildlife I get a great sense of satisfaction, putting my patience and skills to the test. There is a lot to learn about wildlife and it allows me to totally switch off from the wordly worries. When on top of that a photograph succeeds, it provides the icing on the cake for me. http://www.naturenotions.ch |

His profession as a physicist enabled him to spend an uninterrupted 15 month in Antarctica from December 2011 until February 2013. While conduction geophysical research and measurements on the German polar research station Neumayer III he used every minute of his free time to photograph the vast Anarctic landscapes and to explore the nearby emperor penguin colony. He returned with numerous unique images from a place which is considered just to be flat, white and boring by many people. In reality however he found a landscape carved by water and wind showing a range of colors unmatched by any other place on the planet. As one of very few human beings he was able to photograph the entire life cycle of the emperor penguins even during the Southern polar winter. About Antarctica he says: |
