Bob has been involved in birding and bird photography for over 20 years. He splits his home time between the bird-rich Kern and Inyo Counties, California. This area is centrally located at the convergence of multiple bio-regions, giving him the opportunity to photograph many avian subjects. He has also have traveled around North America and to Costa Rica, Australia, South America, and Southeast Asia to photograph. Bob has worked for National Geographic as photo editor on book projects along with being a major photo contributor for numerous books and field guides for National Geographic, Smithsonian, Stokes Field Guides, Audubon, American Museum of Natural History, and others.
